Anche se con qualche giorno di ritardo, volevo parlare del nuovissimo wine (versione 0.9.52) e della guida creata da me per la configurazione di wine in Linux. Per prima cosa vorrei ricordare a tutti voi che wine e' definita l'integrazione delle API win32 in Linux, ovvero con wine si cerca di dare supporto alle richieste che gli eseguibili per windows fanno durante la loro esecuzione. Questo comporta notevoli vantaggi, infatti non essendo un emulazione "pura" ha il vantaggio di non sprecare risorse di sistema.
Wine e' completamente gratuito ed e' un software OPEN SOURCE, ovvero chiunque ne abbia le capacita' potrebbe migliorarlo e adattarlo alle proprie esigenze agendo direttamente sul codice del programma.
Spesso pero' la sua configurazione risulta molto difficile, e sopratutto far partire diverse applicazioni native per windows a prima vista puo' sembrare un impresa.. Grazie alla collaborazione e al supporto di Fradeve e 'Alessio' (due editori del wiki di Ubuntu-it), ho stilato la guida che troverete cliccando qui , che spiega passo passo all'utente come configurare in modo ottimale wine.

Il problema vero non si riesce a soddisfare il 100% delle richieste e altre possono avere qualche baco (bug informatico). Ma il team di wine lavora per risolvere questi problemi. Attraverso wine io gioco a World of Warcraft, a Perfect World, a Warcraft III e ad altri giochi. Alternative a wine c'è il gratuito CVS cedega, poi a pagamento ad esempio CEDEGA e CROSSOVER. ciao!
